Women's Cross Country Finishes Third at the MVC Championships

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – The Belmont women's cross country team earned an impressive third-place finish at the Missouri Valley Championships on Friday, held at the Pheasant Ridge Golf Course in Cedar Falls, Iowa. 

The Bruins finished behind Bradley (42 points), and Illinois State (66 points) with 85 total points.

Competing against 12 teams, the Bruins celebrated strong performances, with four runners setting season-best times and another four achieving personal bests.

Grace Litzinger led the Bruins, securing fourth place with a season-best time of 20:29.9. Brooke Garter joined her in the top 10, finishing eighth with a season-best of 20:36.9. 

Rachel Soukup and Brooke Stromsland contributed to the team's success by finishing in 14th and 15th, clocking in at 20:45.7 and 20:48.7, respectively.

Carson Wasemiller was one of the four Bruins to set a season-best at the Championship meet, while freshmen Lilie Fouts and Bella Domier joined teammates Betsy Gordon and Clara Crain in setting personal records on the course.

Grace Litzinger and Brooke Garter were both named to the Women's All-Conference First Team, while Rachel Soukup and Brooke Stromsland received All-Conference Honorable Mentions.
