TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Belmont women's cross country team closed out their 2024 season with a strong 14th-place finish at the NCAA South Regional meet on Friday morning at Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahassee, Florida.
The Bruins tallied 432 points and placed three runners in the top 100. Alabama claimed the team title with 63 points, securing three top-10 finishes. Florida finished second with 79 points, while host Florida State rounded out the top three with 106 points.
Brooke Garter led the way for Belmont, finishing 28th with a time of 20:38.0. Grace Litzinger followed in 62nd place, running 21:09.8. Close behind, Brooke Stromsland crossed the line in 73rd with a time of 21:30.4.
Clara Crain, Carson Wasemiller, and Lilie Fouts rounded out the scoring for the Bruins in 120th, 149th, and 162nd, respectively.
The individual title went to Hilda Olemomoi of Florida, who narrowly edged out Alabama's Doris Lemongole with a winning time of 19:30.6.

This meet wraps up the season for Belmont. The Bruins earned top-10 finishes in four meets and set a new program standard in the 8K. Rachel Soukup and Brooke Garter broke the previous 5K school record set by Keely Weaver Corlew in 2001, with Rachel now holding the record at 16:47.7.
