Nashville, Tenn. -- Competing in fifth meet weekend of the season, the Belmont University women's track and field team saw action on Friday and Saturday of the weekend. The team competed at the Joe Walker Invite in its second trip to Oxford, Mississippi this weekend.Â
Top Performing Bruins
Friday
Tyra Finkeldey began in pole vault, securing second place at 3.81m.Â
Madelyn Quinn earned second place in the javelin throw with a 43.20m.
Kate Briscoe notched third in the javelin throw with a personal best throw of 40.44m. She holds the sixth spot in the Missouri Valley Conference and is inside the top 100 of the NCAA East Outdoor Qualifying List.
Saturday
Michella Diebenow secured third place in the 400m hurdles with a personal best time of 1:01.17. She ranks No.2 in the MVC in that event. She also placed third in the 100m hurdles over the weekend in 14.12. Â
Emma García Palencia set a program record in the heptathlon with a record 4,925 points, highlighted by second place finishes in the 800m and shot put. She claimed first place in the javelin throw with a personal best throw.Â
Sophia Harvey placed fifth in the 800m with a time of 2:12.21, giving her a top 10 spot in the MVC.
Rebekah Stucker had a huge weekend throwing. She set a personal best in the hammer at 58.48m (ranking 33rd in the NCAA East)Â Â threw 47.66m in discus and 14.54m in the shot put. She ranks third in the conference in shot put and sixth place in discus.Â

The Bruins will travel across the country compete in the Bryan Clay Invitational in California next weekend.Â
