TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - - With electrifying performances across the board, Belmont University women's track & field made its presence felt on Day 1 of the 2024 Missouri Valley Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships from the Gibson Track & Field Complex on the campus of Indiana State University.
Â
The Bruins earned four podium finishes Friday – including three individual event victories – to stand first overall in the team standings with 44 points.
Â
Rebekah Stucker got Belmont going with a third-place finish in the hammer throw, with a mark of 57.01m.
Â
From there,
Tyra Finkeldey added another punctuation point to her remarkable career by earning gold in the pole vault with a program-record mark of 4.08m.
Â
The momentum continued moments later as Maddie Quinn earned her second conference crown in the javelin, doing so in short order with a victorious mark of 44.82m.
Â
