NASHVILLE, Tenn. - - The Belmont University Men's Track & Field team competed in their first indoor meet of the season over the weekend in the Commodore Challenge at Vanderbilt University.
The Bruins competed in 12 events and ended the day with four top-five finishes.
Freshman
Jack Perry's first collegiate meet resulted in a second-place finish in pole vault with a result of 4.8m. Graduate student
Aidan Dinsbeer finished in third with a 4.65m finish.
Senior
Jackson Grant finished in the top five in weight throw with a 15.95-meter result. Grant picked up his second top-five finish in the shot put at 15.55 meters.
The Bruins saw junior Vince Flegeance finish third in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.43.
Jayce Gray set a new program record in the 60m with a time of 6.8 seconds, edging out Channing Twyner's record he held since 2007 at the ASUN Indoor Championship
Another impressive freshman performance came from
Daniel Crouse. Crouse earned sixth place in the 300 meter and ninth place in the 400 meter.
The team returns to action next week in the Vanderbilt Invitational at Vanderbilt Multipurpose Facility on Jan. 17-18.
