ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The Belmont men's golf team finished in 10th place at the rain-shortened World Golf Village Collegiate held this week at The King and Bear Course in St. Augustine, Florida.Â
The teams completed the second round Tuesday morning, but with persistent rain forecasted for the remainder of the day, the decision was to cancel the third round and make results final after 36 holes.
The Bruins posted rounds of 316 and 298 to finish the event in 10
th place at 614. North Florida captured the team title at 577, while Butler was second at 602.
Three Belmont golfers finished among the top-35. Junior
Conner Brown tied for 29
th place after posting rounds of 75 and 78 for a 153 total. Sophomores
Jack Darke and
Chris Harpum tied for 35
th place at 154. Darke shot rounds of 77 in both rounds, while Harpum carded an 80 and 74.
Sophomore
Grey Goff and graduate student
Foster Wood tied for 44
th place at 155, while freshman
Brennan Cozad tied for 52
nd place at 156.
Brett Schell of North Florida captured medalist honors at 136.
The men's golf team is back in action on March 13-15 at The Peoples Championship in Sea Island, Georgia.Â
