NASHVILLE, Tenn. - - Belmont University men's track & field has been tabbed to place seventh in the 2025 Missouri Valley Conference Indoor Championships, the league office announced this week in its pre-championship poll.
Â
The championship will take place March 2-3 from the Dr. Conrad Worrill Track and Field Center at Gately Park in Chicago, Illinois.
Â
The Bruins placed seventh in last year's edition, with several notable performances.
Â
Returning student-athlete
Carter Cheeseman won the 5000m and earned silver in the 3000m while
Austin Belle placed second in the 400m with a personal-best time.
Â
Matty Mackay,
Aidan Dinsbeer,
Jack Perry, and
Jackson Grant were top finishers in the Bruins' most recent event, the Indoor Music City Challenge at Vanderbilt, while
Kevin Vanderkolk,
Andrew Hammel, Vince Flegeance, and
Jayce Gray are expected to be top point-earners for Belmont this weekend.
Â
Throws and distance events have long been Bruin strongholds for points, but Belmont has demonstrated depth across all disciplines in the MVC.
