AZUSA, Calif. - - Belmont University men's track & field turned in strong performances at the Bryan Clay Invitational April 16-17, hosted by Azusa Pacific University.

In one of the premier national meets of the outdoor season, the Bruins had six distance runners deliver in the Sunshine State.

Ethan Hammer set a school record in the 10,000m with a time of 29:17.45 to place seventh. Hammer now leads the Missouri Valley Conference by 34 seconds.

Nick Mota shaved nine seconds off his personal record and nearly broke the 14 minute barrier in the 5000m, posting a time of 14:03.67 to place fourth in the open A heat 1. Mota currently ranks third in the MVC in the 5000m and among NCAA east regional qualifiers.

Kevin Vanderkolk and
Zach Brill solidified their top rankings in the MVC in the 3000m steeplechase, each with sub-9:10 times.

Matty Mackay and
Drew Brill also posted quality 5000m times in their respective heats.

Belmont returns to action April 18-19 in the Georgia Tech Invitational.
