NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Belmont University men's track and field team will compete in its second meet of the season beginning this weekend. The Bruins will take on the Vanderbilt Invitational Friday and Saturday Jan. 20-21 inside Vanderbilt's nearby Multipurpose Facility. Â
Hosted by Vanderbilt University, the two-day meet gets underway Friday morning with men's heptathlon action and continues through late Saturday evening, concluding with the 4x400m relays. Â
This meet marks the second week in a row where Belmont will compete in Nashville. The Bruins will see 24 student-athletes in action. Belmont will be represented in the high jump, long jump, weight throw, pole vault, shot put, 60m, 60m H, 200m, 400m, 800m, 3000m, 5000m and the one-mile run. Â
Cost of admission to the indoor meet is $10 per day with children 10 and under gaining free admittance. Free parking can be accessed inside the 25th Ave. Garage through the Highland Avenue entrance on floors 8-10. Enter through the SEC lobby on the north end of the multipurpose facility. Vanderbilt has a clear bag policy for all spectators. Â
Throwers Jackson Grant and Robert Joseph will compete in shot put and weight throw. Â
Nick Bazzoni, Trey Collins, Payton Culp, Aidan Dinsbeer, and Knox Perry will compete in pole vault.Â
Ian Robertson will compete in the long jump. Noah Grimm will compete in the high jump. Â
Distance runners Morgan Turpin, Jack Zettl, and Noah Epker will run in the 3000m. Zac Shaffer, Ethan Hammer and Jacob Ricks, will run in the 5000m. In the one-mile run, the Bruins will have Kevin Vanderkolk, Zach Brill and Gavin Morrow.Â
In the 60 and 200m dashes, the Bruins will have Jayden Gray and Mathew Miller.Â
Garrett Horowitz and Eric Toviave will run the 400m. Toviave will also compete in the 60m hurdles.Â
Wyatt Womack, Garrett Hesselgesser and Vanderkolk will run in the 800m.Â
