Women's Cross Country Ready to Compete at the Southern Showcase

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - After a short break last weekend, the Belmont women's cross country team will return to action Friday with a trip to Huntsville, Alabama, to compete at the Southern Showcase.

In Huntsville, the Bruins will face off against teams from 54 schools, including top competitors including Auburn, Alabama, Kentucky, and Florida State, and local rivals such as Lipscomb and Middle Tennessee State.

Having the opportunity to compete at a meet with such a talented field will allow the Bruins to see how they stack up against high-level competition early on in the season. 

The women's 5K is scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m.
 
What's Bruin

• The Bruins finished second at the Belmont Opener on August 30th.
• Sophie Nicholls finished first at the Belmont Opener with a time of 17:52.5 in the 5K.
• All seven Bruins who competed at the Belmont Opener finished in the top 30.
