The 2007 Belmont men’s cross country team ranks among the most decorated and accomplished in school history. After breezing to season-opening team championships in the Belmont Opener and Vanderbilt Invitational—outpacing the likes of Georgia Tech, Missouri, UCF and the host Commodores—Belmont then topped Kansas, Nebraska, Kansas State and Utah State at the Roy Gliak Invitational in Minneapolis, Minnesota and NCAA Pre Nationals in Indianapolis, Indiana. The Bruins then capped a historic sixth consecutive Atlantic Sun Conference team championship in style with seven Top 15 finishers. From there, Belmont earned its highest finish at the NCAA South Region meet in Gainesville, Florida—a fourthplace finish over traditional powers Mississippi State, Auburn, Georgia, Tennessee and Ole Miss; narrowly missing out on NCAA National Championship team qualification.
