Felipe Lima shined on the tennis court, providing talent and leadership to a burgeoning program. After earning All-Atlantic Sun honors each of his four seasons of competition, Lima led Belmont to a Cinderella run in the 2006 Atlantic Sun Championship defeating nationally-ranked Stetson and East Tennessee State to earn the program’s first NCAA Tournament appearance.

The Sao Paulo, Brazil, native won over 80 percent of his career singles matches in league play and remains the only Bruin to post a perfect undefeated season in singles (2003). Despite playing a reduced schedule when compared to present-day college players, Lima remains top five in program history in singles and doubles victories. A two-time ITA Scholar-Athlete, Lima graduated with honors in accounting and briefly served as assistant coach. In addition, he was named Belmont Student-Athlete of the Year in 2006.

He is the first men’s tennis student-athlete of the NCAA Division I era to enter the Hall of Fame.
