Jana Williams was a coach’s dream when it came to attitude, effort, and passion for the game.

A tall and lanky 6’1” post player, Jana commanded respect as an offensive weapon around the basket and defensive specialist on the boards. Jana and teammate Gail Corder created a double post threat that would not be seen again in Belmont women’s basketball history. They led the 1981 team to the VSAC Conference Championship and District 24 Championship.

Jana remains in the top 10 in scoring in school history with 1,487 points and ranks fourth in career rebounds (991), and in career blocked shots (143).

In 2001, Jana was named to the All-Striplin Gymnasium team. Her loyalty to the Belmont Women’s Basketball program is unmatched. She would go on to be a successful coach at the college level, giving back to the game she loved so well.
