Eddie Scott was one of the first inductees in the Belmont Athletic Hall of Fame.

He lettered in both men’s basketball and baseball.  During his senior season, he batted .434, which is currently third on Belmont's all-time career batting average, and was named team MVP for the second time.

Former teammate and good friend Temp Sparkman spoke fondly of Scott: "Eddie was one of the three athletes that formed the Alabama Connection, coming in 1953 with Hilton Jones and Robert Barnes, and beginning a celebrated era for Belmont Athletics. Eddie was an outstanding catcher both in fielding and batting. He was built low to the dirt, had a strong arm and was a leader on the baseball team."
