Warren Johnson was a two-sport athlete at Belmont from 1952-1954. 

A gifted and competitive athlete, Warren played both basketball and baseball. He was a member of the historic first men’s basketball team under Coach Larry Striplin in 1952-53 where he was the team’s leading scorer at 19.7 points-per-game his freshman year.  He was also voted the team’s Most Valuable Player during the 1952-53 season. Warren was a teammate of Robert Barnes who would become Belmont’s first All-American.

In 1988, Warren was named recipient of the school’s Chaney Memorial Award, which honors those who give untiringly to the betterment of the Belmont athletic program. He and wife, Pat, will always be remembered for their investment in the Bruins.
