Jim Ferguson was a two-sport athlete at Belmont in the 1960's, lettering in basketball and baseball.Â

His focus was baseball, where he excelled as a hitter and all-around player. Teammates and friends remember Ferguson as disciplined, committed and physically-gifted, blessed with raw talent and athleticism.
Ferguson garnered All-VSAC honors as a junior and senior for his prowess at the plate. He currently ranks in the top 10 in school history for triples in a season (6, 1963) and career triples (10).
Ferguson became the second Belmont Baseball player in school history to be drafted, selected by the Boston Red Sox in the 1963 entry draft.
