Lynette Rives ran track and field for Belmont from 2005-2009 and stands as one of the most decorated sprinter- male or female - in Belmont University history. 

An 18-time All-Atlantic Sun performer and eight-time Atlantic Sun Conference event champion in four different disciplines, Rives qualified for the NCAA National Championship back-to-back years in the 200 meters and in 2008 was named NCAA All-American in the same event. She was also invited to the 2008 US Olympic Trials and the 2009 World Trials.

Holder of scores of Belmont program records and among the fastest times in A-Sun history in the 100 and 200 meters, Rives was named the 2008 Atlantic Sun Outdoor Track Athlete of the Year.

The Clarksville, Tennessee native became the first Belmont sprinter to earn multiple All-South Region honors form the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
