Jerry Wheeler played outfield at Belmont from 1976-79 and is one of the program’s top offensive performers. During his four years, Belmont had an overall record of 101-48 (.678 winning percentage) and won three Volunteer State Athletic Conference (VSAC) championships. 

As a senior in 1979, Wheeler batted .429 with 12 home runs and 52 RBI and was named to the All-VSAC, All-District 24, and All-Area five teams. 

For his career, Wheeler ranks in Belmont’s top 10 in six different categories: batting average (.368 – 4th), runs scored (157 – 7th), hits (229 – 9th), home runs (26 - T7th), RBI (162 – 5th) and walks (109 – 5th).
