A native of Marion, Ky., Thurman was a standout post player from 1990-92, leading Belmont to three straight 20-win seasons. He is the ninth leading scorer in school history, pouring in 1,979 points.

His deft shooting touch and low post play resulted in Thurman's .645 career field goal percentage and average of 20.4 point per game. The 6-foot-7 center's field goal percentage is currently the fourth best career shooting percentage in program history. 

As a senior during the 1991-92 season, Thurman finished seventh in the NAIA in scoring average (27.1) and sixth in field goal percentage (.669) on his way to being named an honorable mention All-American.

Thurman remains in the top 10 in program history in scoring, field goal percentage and free throws made.
