A native of Brentwood, Tennessee, Casey Alexander has been a key component to the men’s basketball program’s success at Belmont during the last two decades as both a player and a coach. 

A fiery floor general and team leader, Alexander enjoyed a stellar four-year career (1992-95) at Belmont, establishing himself among the top 10 in several of the school's career statistical categories, including ranking fourth in assists and fourth in steals.  As the team's captain, he earned a spot on the All-Tennessee Collegiate Athletic Conference team in 1995 when Belmont posted a 37-2 overall record, a perfect 18-0 TCAC mark, a No. 1 NAIA national ranking a a place in the NAIA Final Four. Belmont registered a 119-25 record during Alexander's career.
 
After his playing career ended, Casey joined the Bruins’ coaching staff. For 16 seasons, Alexander worked alongside Coach Byrd in navigating the Bruins from NAIA to NCAA Division I. In particular, Alexander's instruction in with Bruin point guards like Brian Collins, Justin Hare, Alex Renfroe, Drew Hanlen and Kerron Johnson garnered him national acclaim from FoxSports.com and CollegeInsider.com. Alexander was a part of eight Atlantic Sun Conference championships, six postseason teams, four NCAA Tournament teams. 

Alexander made his head coaching debut with Stetson before returning to Nashville to become the head coach at Lipscomb. During his final two years at Lipscomb, Alexander guided the Bisons to two conference championships, an NCAA Tournament appearance in 2018 and a runner-up finish in the NIT in 2019. 

Returning to his alma mater, Alexander lifted the Bruins to the OVC Championship in 2020 in his first season as head coach.

Over his first four seasons at Belmont, Alexander led the Bruins to a 98-30 record - among the top programs in America in both wins and winning percentage.
