Simply put, Alaric Allen was one of the most imposing and productive interior players in Belmont men’s basketball history.

Allen enjoyed a standout prep career at nearby Brentwood Academy, where he shined both on the hardwood and as a defensive end on the gridiron, becoming a top college football recruiting prospect. After attending Birmingham Southern University as a freshman, Allen transferred to Belmont, to rejoin forces with his high school teammate and friend Casey Alexander.

Despite playing just three seasons, Allen's impact upon Belmont Basketball was astounding. One of only eight players in program history to score over 2,000 career points (2,030), Allen currently holds the program record for highest career field goal percentage with a .669 mark.

A three-time All-TCAC Selection and a 1995 NAIA All-American and TCAC Co-Player of the Year, Allen was a the heart of Belmont's 37-2 team in 1994-95 that rose to No. 1 in the NAIA National polls and reached the NAIA National Semifinals.

Belmont went 95-20 during Allen’s career.
