Jeff Langdon has made a great impact on the Belmont cross country and track programs both as a student-athlete and as a coach.Â
Â
During his four years as a student-athlete (1979-1983), Langdon finished 7th in the NAIA Marathon in 1983 and was named an Academic All-American. In addition, Langdon finished as the District 24 cross country champion in 1982.
Â
As a coach, Langdon has spent over 30 years in various roles. These include being the men's and women's cross country coach, the men's track and field coach when the Bruins made the jump from NAIA to the NCAA, and now in his current role as Director of Men's and Women's Cross Country and Track and Field. During the NAIA era, he led the men’s squad to four conference championships and was named Conference Coach of the Year four times. Langdon’s NAIA teams also finished in the top 25 at the NAIA Championship five times, including a ninth place finish in 1996. As the head women’s coach for six years, Jeff led that squad to four conference championships and earned Coach of the Year honors four times as well.Â
Â
During the school’s NCAA Division I era, Langdon has seen his success continue. Since 2001, the men’s cross country program captured six conference championships and six Belmont athletes have won individual conference championships. During this time frame, his teams finished in the top four the NCAA South Region Championships on three different occasions. All told, Langdon has produced 18 All-South Region performers.Â
Â
Moreover, Langdon's teams annually rank among the nation's top academic programs by USTFCCCA.  In addition to his accomplishments at Belmont, Langdon was inducted in the Fairfield High School Hall of Fame and the Butler County Hall of Fame.
