Adam Sonn was named a national player for NCAA Division I basketball making him a central figure in elevating Belmont’s men’s basketball program.

Sonn grew up in Nashville and was a graduate of Donelson Christian Academy. In 1998, Sonn garnered the TSSAA Mr. Basketball award.

After transferring to Belmont following his freshman season, Sonn became a force to be reckoned with on the floor for the team. Sonn was known for his power and control in the paint as well as on the backboards, he provided double-doubles at a rate that has not been seen before or since his time at Belmont.

Sonn was a two-time First Team All-Atlantic Sun selection, as well as named the 2003 Atlantic Sun Conference Player of the Year and Associated Press Honorable Mention All-America. He paved the way for fellow teammates to follow in his footsteps with this honor. 

Sonn graduated in 2003 with a degree in Health/Physical Education and Business and left with two Academic All-Conference honors.

Sonn enjoyed a lengthy professional playing career while spending time in Belgium, France, South Korea, Holland, Sweden, and Spain. Currently he is the head coach at Goodpasture Christian School.
