Grant Martin was one of Dave Jarvis’ first players at Belmont University. Martin was a dynamic mainstay in Belmont’s transition form NAIA to NCAA Division I. Martin grew up in Franklin, Tenn. and attended Montgomery Bell Academy. Martin single-handedly rewrote the Belmont offensive record book.

Martin currently holds three top 10 spots in the Belmont Baseball Career Record Book, including hits (243-6th), doubles (54-6th), and NCAA-era career batting average (.347-4th)

In Martin’s four years as a Bruin the team posted four consecutive winning records, including a 31-17 season in 1997. In his final three season at Belmont, Martin lead the Bruins in batting average.

In 2000, Martin earned his degree in Marketing and Hospitality Management. Martin went on to work for 13 years in the mortgage industry before finding the sport performance company 99Mental. His company sells CDs that train the mental side of sports performance in athletes.

Martin has continued his impact in baseball by staying active in the community and connected to the sport. He coached the South Nashville Little League team to the Little League World Series in South Williamsport, PA in 2014.
