Charlotte Speakman was tabbed by her Coach, Betty Wiseman, as “Double Trouble” because of her prowess on both the basketball and tennis courts.  As a point guard, “Speak” ranks ninth in career assists for women’s basketball with 363. 

She dominated the No. 1 spot on the tennis courts in the VSAC for four years, both as a singles and doubles player. She earned All-VSAC honors three out of four years and capped off her outstanding career by earning a trip to the NAIA National Tennis Tournament in Kansas City her senior year, ranking eighth in the NAIA. She and her doubles partner were ranked second in the same tournament where they won their first doubles match. Overall, she finished with a singles record of 58-6, 49-5 in conference play.

Charlotte later served as Head Coach of the Women’s Tennis team in 1985.
