28 May 2011 - Belmont defeats Mercer 9-7 to win the Atlantic Sun Conference Baseball Championship held at Ken Dugan Field in Nashville, Tennessee.

Woods was a central piece in Belmont's rise to championship glory in the Atlantic Sun Conference.
 
A two-time First Team All-ASUN selection and 2010 ABCA All-South Region honoree, Woods was a towering figure in the batter's box, in the field at first base, and on the pitching mound.
 
The Cedar Rapids, Iowa native ranks among program all-time leaders in home runs, runs batted in, extra base hits, pitching starts and pitching victories.
 
Woods among national leaders in extra base hits and total bases over his final two seasons at Belmont, with his junior season of 20 home runs and 78 runs batted in standing as program single-season records.
 
He was the winning pitcher in Belmont's regular season finale victory over nationally-ranked Stetson to qualify for the 2011 ASUN Tournament.
 
From there, he recorded the final putout at first base in the Bruins' historic victory over Oklahoma State in the 2011 NCAA Tournament and was the winning pitcher in Belmont's victory over Troy to advance to the NCAA regional final.
 
Woods serves as an assistant vice president at HealthTrust in Nashville.
