Scott Speedy epitomized the point guard position during his four years of play at Belmont. Not only does he hold Belmont’s career assist mark with 1,164 – more than 400 over the second place total – Speedy also holds the top three single season assist totals in school history. He was named to the second team NAIA All-American in 1990-91. He also ranks first in school history in career three-point shooting percentage at 45.4%. Scott scored 1,538 points, which ranks 20th all-time.

Belmont recorded a 98-35 record during Scott’s four-year career and lost only 12 conference games during that same stretch.

Scott also earned NAIA All-American Scholar-Athlete honors following his junior season.

Speedy remains connected to the Bruin program and has served as a color analyst for Bruin Sports Network broadcasts.
