Gail Corder-Hassell was a dominating 6-1 post player for Belmont women's basketball from 1980-84.

Though she was the focal point of opposing defenses, Corder-Hassell made a name for herself with deft post moves and fearlessness. She ranks fifth in school history in scoring (1,814) and fifth in rebounds (942).

Gail was the school's first NAIA All-American in 1983. She was also a member of the 1981 VSAC Championship team and District 24 Championship team that missed out on nationals by a single point.

In 2001, Corder-Hassell was named to the All-Striplin Gymnasium Team.

Upon graduation, Corder-Hassell and teammate Cindy Morris-McMillon played internationally in Caracus, Venezuela.
